Hello.
There are several auto repair shops across from where I work, and in the 18 years I have worked here, I have never gone across. I was intreged when I saw two Spits. at one of the places yesterday, so I went across. In the corner of the yard, behind three other beaters was a red car I thought looked like a GT6. I took a closer look, and it has a MG, or a MGB badge on the front. It was faded, so I am not sure which one, but I know the shape.
This car has a hard top, and looked in fantastic shape, at least from thirty feet away on my side of the fence. Only thing is.. somone stuck yellow rims on it.
My question is... what kind of MG had a hard top, and looked like a GT6. And, should I inquire about it since it is just sitting around.
Thanks from a TR7 guy.

If it's not a GT it could just be a roadster with an aftermarket hard-top of some kind...but there too, can't think of any that looked like a GT6 really.

Ya, Bugeye, that is the car. And NO, it doesn't look like a GT6, but I was looking through a fence. Maybe the actual presence of Sunshine yesterday, after 4 months was playing with my mind.
I am going over tomorow to get some information on it from the owner of the garage. Maybe if it has some life left in it he will want to get rid of it.
I will try to get a picture, yellow rims and all.

Spoke to the owner of the shop this morning. It is a 1970 MGBGT. The owner dropped it off 3 YEARS ago. He says, then, it needed pistons and rings, but he told the guy he would try to get them when he could. He says the body is in great shape, the interior is re-done, but he has heard from the owner once in 3 years. He told me he is going to try to contact him to get it out of there this weekend. I told him I may be interested in it, so he took my #. Says he just wants to get rid of it...
I hope he can't find the owner.

KLUTZ... Tech question about this post. Did you ever see a post I made on this thread? I'm 100% certain I made a post on it late last night/early this morning and I don't see it there this morning, yet one of your responses seems to mirror what I said in my post, leading me to believe you may have read it... clueless, maybe part of teething problems with new server?

The only one I see is in regards to the EBAY listing for the GT with rubber bumpers.
Interesting...
