What is it? Counter under hood

yeah, that's what I was thinking. I'll look it up when I get home in the Bentley manual. That's where I've seen it.

Hey Stewart,
Thanks for the picture. My counter looks exactly like that. Your pic looks better than the one I was going to post. I thunk it is for engine life expectancy (not EGR). It is hooked into the speedo cable. The lable says made in UK.
Thanks
Rick

i have one similar on my Midget. inline on the speedo cable, with two green wires. dont recall any counter on it tho.

Apparently that's NOT where I saw it. I just looked cover to cover. Hmmmm I read about these and saw at least one BW picture of it somewhere.

They were an option put on in the factory...service counter....you can watch the mileage build up from service to service

hmmm... mine must be broke then... IIRC, mine has a little window in it and a "red meter" that fills up until something needs changing

Rob - I've only seen them with odometers...but, that's not to say they didn't make others...does yours say British Leyland on it? BMW's had one that changed from green to amber to red

I think? I'll have to have a peek see to be sure. Maybe I'll take a picture of it during lunch today.
