What healey have I bought..?

I'm importing a big Healey from LA due to arrive in the UK mid September.
I'm not sure which one I've bought. Its a 1959, 2+2, drum brakes on the front and twin carbs.
The title is with the shippers but I am told the vin number is 6716859.
I'm assuming its a BN4 with a six cylinder 2.6 engine but I'm not sure..!!
Any ideas ?

20160724_082441.jpgnine.jpgIts a restoration project. Been laid-up in Arizona for past 40 years with 28000 miles on the clock...

Jim here, aka healey blue, knows a lot about that series__particularly one from Arizona also__though the one he restored is at the opposite end of the production run.

I'd say that what you have is what a lot of us secretly hope to find ourselves! Keep us posted with developments, as we all enjoy a good ride-along with newly surfaced Healeys. So is this a personal project/keeper, or just slipping through?

Yes..just finishing renovating my house so needed to find something to keep me out of trouble..
I wasn't looking to buy just yet but this came along & it was too good to pass by..!
Any way whats the point in having money in the bank at the moment..!

From the pics you can see it has the later 6 port head with HS6 carbs so a little more power, and likely the OD transmission, as you can see the OD relay and throttle switch to the left of the fuse box. Gotta love Arizona cars, probably has little rust. Nice !

Yes has o/drive...Seller says..the only rust is a small patch under the fuel tank.. but will have to wait & see..!

I'd be shocked if that were true; even my California car had a bit of rust in the doglegs.

Mine also had the forward/LH outrigger rusted through, no doubt as a result of leaking corrosive exhaust gasses, but at your car's low mileage, let's hope you side-stepped that ailment!

You're welcome to compare it to my 56 bn4 anytime I'm only just outside Dorchester and carrying out a refresh \ restoration of my car at present.

If it is in the bank now, it won't be there for long - Have you the names of all the usual suspects for the parts? - Will you be repairing the rusted sections yourself? What is your grand plan?

Will do most of the work myself. Going to Beaulieu jumble Saturday for a look, hopefully pick up a few bits. Trouble is as the car hasn't arrived yet & I'm not sure what is needed. I would like to convert it to RHD so need to research the parts required. I've been told a steering box, some linkage arms & pedal assembly are the main parts but I'm sure there's
a lot more..! Also needed are complete interior, screen, roof bows etc etc it goes on..! !
My goal is to have a good drivable car not a show car.

When you get it, make a list of your requirements and either phone John Chatham, Bill Rawles or Andrew Pruit to see if they have any second hand bits. If you are going new then the usual suspects - AH Spares, Ahead4healeys, SC parts, Dennis Welch are all there. You will also need a dash board if you are going to convert to RHD. My old girl has been swung over years ago by a PO so I did not have to worry about that.
