After 2 years working on the TR3A I still lusted for a Corvette and last night I purchased a 1966 Roadster. 427, 4 speed... I'm going to sell the TR3A to cover some of the work I want to do to the vette... I'll post it on the classifieds tomorrow... A excellent TR3A with Toyota 5 speed, rack and pinion, TSI motor, Gary Martin 4A Carbs, new wires, tires...

I'm really going to miss it...

Well, I guess if you're gonna jump, a 427 Vette's not a bad choice!

You've a PM...

Mickey

I just hope you don't get so anally retarded like so many Corvette owners seem to be...

Hi There CaptRoy

Nice Buy!! I`m not crazy for Vettes but `63-`67 are my favorites:

How do you plan on controlling All those "Ponies" that will be pushing your car?

Have a Blast;

Regards, Russ /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif

Ummmmmmmm I HAD a 68 Vette for a tiny while, what a rattle trap. Everything seemed to come loose and rattle. If that were not bad enough, the dang thing sat so low that even the slight bump from the driveway to the street would drag the mufflers off of it if you didn`t approach at an angle. Neat looking car tho and fast as lightening. Would I have another? Not really my cuppa. But good luck with yours. Have a blast B.T.W. that 427 will get you into trouble in a heartbeat, be careful & stay safe.

Enjoy your new car and be sure to put SOMETHING british in it or on it - hopefully keep you from getting chevroleriusfiberglassitis... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif If you find yourself staring at yourself in your rearview mirror and saying "I own I Vette, I love me!"" you're infected!

I had a 66 327 fuelie when I was young and stupid and I found out how quickly your insurance can go up when you got tickets. I still regret parting with that car...Marina Blue and white interior. Constant valve adjustments to cut the noise down, but that bad boy flew...

Insurance costs were starting to exceed gross national product, so it had to go.

That's when I learned how to make a Cutlass with HD everything into a 442 and still have the serial number say it was stock.

Roy-

Wow, I'm jealous - what's the color? Nassau Blue? That was my favorite. Hope you don't abandon the TR crowd completely, I still figure I need to meet up with you some time. If you have trouble selling the 3, I can probably 'store' it for you..

Congrats!
Randy

I'm jealous Roy. I want my crank back. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif

Man, you have one of the nicest resto-mod TR3s out there. You should get well into the 20s for your little baby. I (many moons ago) had a '70 454 Vette. A real rocket. Does yours have the Lake pipes. Silver is the perfect color. Drool.

Good luck and keep in touch. I still want a speckled trout.

Bill, this the crank you are looking for?

I dunno, looks kinda small for me. If those are real Vandervall bearings, then I will take it!

The cranks needs polishing, so I'll pass.

How about the jacket?

So who really gets credit the BRITS or AMERICANS!
GOOD LUCK ON THE VETTE..I WENT JUST THE OPPOSITE
U.S. VETTE's TO BRIT AND GERMAN MADE!!!

I'd take a C6 anyday! Not too sure about the 66 though since the 427 is pretty heavy. Probably a rocket in a straight line but you'll sure miss the TR3 in the twisties.

Happy for you but sorry for your loss.

Well the good news is your left leg muscles will get a good workout, as long as it's a standard. I did a lot of work on a 65 with a 350 and a 4 speed. It was a fun car. I can see the allure. If I came across some smokin deal on one I'd probably own it, but I'd not likley ever go looking for one.
HOpe you enjoy the new toy. Don't be a stranger.

Thanks Guys,

I owe a couple of you an answer to the PM,s. I'll take care of that this evening...
