TR2/3/3A What gauge steel use for TR3 frame?

If the TR3 frame was built like the TR6 frame, it's 16gauge steel bent into a pair of C channels, one deep, and one shallow, and then welded along the seam. Triumph frames are, unfortunately, quite flimsy (and flexible)

The only TR2/3 frame that I've inspected myself looked very similar construction to the TR6 frames I've worked on

They are indeed 16 ga steel. I've done wonders repairing frames just from flat sheet and making patches that are hardly noticable. 16 ga is great to weld on because it doesn't burn thru very easily.

Depends...Is that at the time of construction or the time the car hit our shores?
