But a VW based fiberglass sports car isn't that unusual.

A friend recently got a Caterham 7 from an older gent who used to own Moggies... the guy apparently bought the 7 on "nostalgia-itis." Getting it home, his S.O. proclaimed it was: "Sell THAT or live alone!" She was a BIT on the 'portly' side, pro'lly imagined hubby out "trollin' fer birds" in it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

VIN numbers in the US were required to be 17 digits starting in 1981 (Jeeps changed their structure for the same reason) with certain digits referring to manufacturer, location, etc. Since the Puma is a Brazilian car the VIN doesn't conform to the US spec and eBay isn't accepting it as a valid 81 VIN since, after all, if it doesn't conform to the spec the seller must be wrong, right? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif For a better description on modern VINs see this article on Wikipedia
