Hi all,
As previously discussed on this forum, SOME people refuse to drill holes in their new sheet metal to mount mirrors. I admit, I am part of the club. Some people mount hot-rod clamp mirrors to the vertical windshidl post. Others mount it through the rear of the two windshield post holes (this one has an accessible nut underneath. This method makes using side curtains more difficult. In my ever-ending quest for the ultimate, I have mounted my mirror to a hand made front post. This should clear the side curtains and the bonnet. The mirrors were purchased from Broward Motorsports and are made by Drag Specialties. What do you think?

I think it looks great. :thumbsup: A little tip though. The side of the camera with the button goes UP! :jester:
 
Is the passenger side still visible or is it behind the windshield post? Or aren't you thinking of mess'n with the passenger side?
I put the Harley ones on mine last year using the rear holes and yes you have to swing them out of the way for side curtain install. I still have secret plans to put wing mounted ones on, I like that classic look.
 
Mine has always had a similar arrangement. It's an older mirror, so I've always assumed it was original, but maybe not. Works out fine; I'd be very reluctant to cut a hole in the fender, as well, and it seems to me to be unecessary, anyway.

I don't have a passenger-side mirror; never felt the need for it.

Howdy Folks,

I`ve been wanting to do the same for a long time; Meaning mount somesort of mirror on the Windshield frame. I don`t like the idea of drilling holes in the bonnet even though I`ve done it with other marques such as TR3s, MGAs, TDs & TFs. They seem to really look cool on the wings but on the Bugeye ???

I have a screen saver right now that has those "Talbot" mirrors mounted on both sides & really is very neat looking & I`m sure practical. I`m going to try to post a pic here.

Keep the pics / ideas coming as I surely have an interest. My B/E is being delv. tomorrow 8-17 finally (Actually 2wk. wait is not bad these days)!

Well; It did`nt work on the previous post. So; Here goes another try. I really hate to shrink my saved pics down to a "Postage Stamp" size cause I always have a problem bringing back to its Orig with good clarity.

Well Folks, It did`nt work again??? Maybe I just have to wait awhile till it comes up???

I like it! Both of the mirror types just look so 'retro' engineered, (and I mean that in the most positive way). It (they) looks natura and purpose built like a WW 2 era aircraft.
In fact, it got me thinking about attaching the mirror to my Midget when the time comes. I'm not thrilled about drilling into the door panel. I positioned it to the bottom of the quarter light vent frame, and it looks as though it would fit. One screw would be into the steel frame of the chromed post offering substantial anchoring, and the front screw would be into the thin sheet metal of the end piece. I dont mean to use your thread for my story, but it seems the same thought. :smile:

I've seen MGBs with the mirror attached there.
