What do you think about these fuel pumps?

These were in the boot of the TR4a IRS. No history on either one. Not sure if they were "correct" for the car or worth trying to rebuild.

What say you TR sages?

#1 - says "AC" on it and has a priming pump.

#2 - says "Made In Canada" on it, three times actually. You've must been especially proud of this pump... In any case you guys are such fantastic neighbors, really what more could we ask for in someone to share a boarder with, that I'd be proud to use it.

The one that says " Made in Canada" runs on beer.

They're rebuildable, and the one with the primer is especially choice!

I had the Canuck pump on the TR3A for years until I got a used AC w/ primer lever.

It was fine and the parts are mostly interchangable -- the bowl is shorter as you can see but even that is interchangable if you were to move the shorter bail too.

FWIW -- I bought a very used AC thinking I would rebuild it but after cleaning it up just for the heck of it I tried it on the car. That was about 8 years ago. Still works fine (in fact, now I'm not even sure which car it is on).

On the Canadian pump, check how the horizontal (cross) pivot pin is located to the body. Some of them are fine, but some relied on the pin being staked into the pot metal body. If the staking works loose, the pin can fall out and potentially lead to a broken camshaft when the lever jams.
