Already at $29,000. Seller has 3 major feed back complaints in his last 10 sales

The car looks ok body wise, original 50,000 miles.

Fuel filler in the trunk? Strange heater return pipe. Old cross ply tires. The interior is serviceable but all wrong.
Everything is sprayed with that horrible detailing product that always makes me very suspicious.

Whats you verdict? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Seems to me the usual suspects ripped this up pretty good a short time ago on this board. There's too many oddities. FWIW

I think that is the one talked about on this thread. BT7 on Ebay

Sorry guys I must have missed that. Busy at work that week!

You pretty much covered everything there was to cover. Something doesn't seem right although its probably actually not that bad at a much lower price than its been bid to.

If you look at all of his previous auctions, you'll notice that he was never the seller.....Something is REALLY fishy there.

Reply to my question about the gas tank. He never got back with an answer though.

"Hi Bruce,

This is my first experience with the Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I BT7 ROADSTER, Bruce, so bare with me. All of the info you have read in my listing came from either physical records physical inspection, or from oral discussions with previous owners. I learn a bit every day about every car with which I am involved. I try to learn as much as I can from those owners who are well versed in cars -or subjects- about which I know (at most) the same amount of data pertaining to the issue. Until I research this filler neck in the trunk, it sounds to me as if the restoration company may have varied a bit from the path of originality. Maybe you can give me some incite on this one. Nonetheless, I'll be checking into it tomorrow and over the weekend when it is convenient for me... The important idea here, I think, is to remember that if the filler tank is not original, I really don't believe it detracts from the value or desirability of the vehicle itself.

I might consider going as low as $38,500 if we can transact a timely sale. A 15% deposit (of the sale price, wired to my bank account) will shut down my current auction. I really appreciate your time and attention concerning my 3000 Mark I BT7 Roadster, you won't find one in finer condition. I hope you appreciate my listing as I spent much time on it.

Just remember, please, if you have any questions at all to make you feel more comfortable with our transaction, or for what ever reason, don't ever hesitate to call, or email me. I want you to be happy with your potential purchase.

Thanks, Bret

This sounds to me like a scam.... This would be entirely outside e-bay and since the seller seems to know little about what they're selling it all seems very fishy, indeed.

He was the seller in ONLY three of the auctions listed and the feedback shows he failed to complete any of them, and seemingly demanded more money than was bid...

Sounds unreliable, and a load of grief- particularly since he wants a big "deposit" immediately....
