Gorgeous weather here! (I remember snow on Thanksgiving - not often but it can happen) After church went to a friend's for a BBQ on the porch, then home for a snooze then painted half the ceiling of the garage. As some on the board will tell you, I have a small garage! However, it is a 2 car garage and in Toronto that is unusual (SWMBO figures a parking spot in this city is worth $100k I don't think she's far off.) Anyway, house was built in 1940 and nothing in the garage has ever been painted. One half took a gallon of paint - it's like plaster scratch coat. That being said, the place is about 10 times brighter already. I am pleased, now just to clean and clean and clean!

Got up, went to church, went to town for some shopping, came home, worked on some computer projects, now watching Fast and Furious.

ran a few errands in the truck, home depot & walmart, than came home and took the spit out for a few hours. just a perfect day here in buffalo for top down cruising, in the 70's and sun shining. came home a grilled some burgers than patched a few small spots on my garage roof. now relaxing...

After visiting mom at her Assisted Living Home, my wife and I took our 6 year old granddaughter to Dorney Park for their Boo Blast for kids. I had not been back to this amusement park for nearly 10 years, and it was very different, but a few of the old attractions from my youth still were there, including one of the world's 10 oldest remaining wooden roller coasters, the ThunderHawk, and the Zephyr train which was built by park workers in 1934 based on the Burlington Zephyr. Caty enjoyed the rides in Planet Snoopy, and a number of adult rides too. Her favorite was being drenched at the end of the 80' drop of the flume ride.

My best friend dropped dead in Santa Barbara on the weekend so I had to spend the day collecting his truck, dog, effects etc. Notifying his wife and his brother, all the fun stuff. Within the last three months I've lost my mom and four good friends, while taking care of another who is partially paralyzed following a stroke. It was his brother who died this weekend. I have him helping me with the Healey paint prep. so to keep him doing something and stave off the inevitable depression that naturally follows losing your livelihood. Now with the loss of his brother... we shall see. Otherwise life goes on. I am glad I'm alive and wish the rest of you well. I hope to get the finish paint on the chassis this week, and am glad to have a project to occupy my few spare moments.

Sorry to hear the news, elrey. Rough stuff.

Me, I spent the day getting starting the winterizing process -- blew out the sprinklers and a did a few more things around the hovel. Winter's on the horizon here, so time to get the last projects done.

MGB and the BMW go into winter storage next weekend.

I was out on Rt 78 driving past (coming back from a 5 hour drive to visit a sick relative). I should have waved!

elrey: Sorry to hear about all the stuff happening around you. I'm a big fan of keeping busy as a positive distraction. Hang in there!

Today, I took my sick grand-daughter to the pediatrician (she's OK).
While sitting in the waiting room, I started chatting with the fellow I was next to. Turns out he's a college professor who teaches mechanical engineering. What are the chances!
We had a great chat about AutoCAD, nanotechnology, calculus and so forth.

Like to hear your sprinkler methods
I assume this is about blowing out the sprinkers... my sprinkler setup has a standard hose bib right after the shutoff to the street. $8 in Home Depot adaptors got me hose bib -> air compressor quick disconnect. Shut off water, hook up compressor, pressurize line, then open up each valve and let the water blow out. Had to wait a bit between each valve for the compressor to catch up. Sprinklers are new this year, so this was my first try. Worked like a champ, though I did get a bit wet.

Must say, had a good friend show me how to do all this from his house to mine using our iPhones and Apple's facetime (video chat). Very neat, functional technology. Felt like one of those remote Antarctic scientists getting medical treatment via video link.

I spent my Sat and Sun officiating at the Coppa Classico soccer tournament not to far from Hershey, PA. Since it was Columbus Day weekend, there were not enough referees so we all had LOTS of games. The kids had a great time.... as for me, my legs are like rubber today :frown:
