What Colour Is This?

My best estimate is Regency Red, paint code BLVC257. Could be maroon or Carmine Red, but looks closest to Regency. Here is a good reference......

Check it out...you could order some touch-up paint to check alongside the original colour, but look for the identification plate on the car and then the possible paint codes.

Now that you mention it, Steve, Regency Red does sound about right. I'm almost certain it isn't Carman Red because I used to own a Carman Red Jag and it is a much redder color.

Looks way too dark to be Carmen Red:

Hi CCM,

As the owner of a specialist paintshop in the UK, and having restored Jaguar bodywork for the last 30 years, I agree with the others. It is Regency Red.
You can always call Jaguar Heritage, who are fantastically helpful, on 0044 2476 202141.
What you need is asample of colour from your local Auto paintshop. They should be able to mix colour for you. If you have a Standox paint user near you, you can follow this link and get the mixing formula: https://www.sxcolor.info/scripts/colorinfo.dll/formula.

Good Luck,

Gordon,

Thank you Gordon.
I phoned and will be faxing the information to them in the morning.

Here is the colour in the engine, I assume that is the original red also?
