This is a picture my grandpa when he was stationed in Germany. I know it is an Opel per 1960 but can't figure out what model it is...

Thanks in advance! I'd like to start hunting one down and restoring it (after the sprite)

Hi Ryan. I think that's a 1955 Opel Kapitan.

Haha, never really saw Elvis in it. My oma found another picture that did have the car on it, 1955 Kapitan is correct! Now I just need to find one in the states to restore :smirk:

According to Wikipedia, Opels were sold in America as Buicks from 1958 - 1975.

5th Gen Buick Regal = Opel Insignia
Opel Omega = Cadillac Catera
5 door Opel Astra = Saturn XR 5 door

I always called my grandparents oma and opa. They were from Germany, well, one grandmother was from Austria.
