The one on the right came with my GT6. Its damaged and I only have one. This car came from a warehouse with a bunch of other misc british cars, so the part may not even be off a triumph. It came with a TR gas cap, and an MG back seat, so I havent the slightest clue.

Anyway I really want to know because it fits my GT6 perfectly and I actually like the looks better than the bulky one on the left which is original. I know its not from a TR4A because I actually bought those thinking they were it, but theyre too short and dont cover all of my bonnet hinges. Its not a rear guard as they are a little bit bigger.

Any ideas?

Don't forget the fronts are different from the rears, and the rears are handed. And be sure to order the packing strips - they'll make them fit better.

How do I know if what I have is the front or the rear?

Good question! Sorry, don't know. If you have access to someone's MGB chrome bumpers, you could match it up. But apparently there are some differences.

Mickey! I'm surprised. Figured you would spot that quickly. Bumperette on left is early TR4 front, right one is early MGB front. If either was back, it would have a hole on the side for the back up light, later (midrun) MGB's have the black rubber strip in the middle of the bumperette. Same for rear and back up light.

Marv

PS - TR4A bumperettes are similar to the TR4 but a size smaller but not as small as the MGB

Good call, Marv! Forgot that the lights were mounted in the bumperettes on the early models. But they were for the license plate lights, right?

The link he sent is for MB parts not triumph parts I think?

I believe in a mk1 GT6 the front overrides were like the one on the left and the back were like the one on the right.

Yeah. Just because I have one, doesnt mean its off a triumph

The one on the right is too small to be a rear spit/gt6 part, but it definitely looks similar to one
