That's our situation as well. With both of us working and no kids, we get pranged pretty hard come tax time. I'm hoping for a wash -- nothing owed, nothing returned.

What Paul said! But what gripes me the most is we will have to claim it as income next year, GIVE ME A BREAK !
Keep your rebate and LEAVE ME ALONE!

I am still paying off last years
Makes me laugh, they take 1% off the gst and think they have done you a favour and then they quietly reduce your personal income tax deductions by $1000. Don't get me started.

REBATE! Don't get me started....how can you have a "REBATE" if you never had a "BATE"? I've notified my senators that I totally disagree with any plan that "refunds" money to people who never paid in the first place!

If it occurs, I'll put my money in investments!

I wish they'd just CALL it a subsidy and get it over with.

But then the actual taxPAYERS would be inclined to fire th' lot at next election... 'cept th' recipients of th' subsidy outnumber the folk who actually PAY...
