Can anyone tell me what attaches to these studs? (58 Bugeye) The cars been apart a long time but I don't remember taking anythig off. There is a pair of them on each side sticking down from the floorboards just forward of the rear wheelwell.

These were added at some point as they are not stock. I see a hole just forward of the two bolts so could they have held a reinforcement plate for a seat belt (hole) mount?

Not stock.

I agree not stock, maybe for a strap on luggage rack. Just kidding for Jack.

They could have been for an additional rear end panhard or support? Just guessing.

I have attached a photo showing the top. The studs have a large flat head and had to have been installed for the top. The forward ones could have been added later but the rear ones are in a boxed in area of the chassis with no access (now) and must have been installed before the flooboards were installed or covered. It's somewhat academic at this point since, from the response so far, I am not missing some gadget (that I need) that bolts there.

The hole near the studs is where the seatbelt was. That will be reinforced before I am through.

Thanks for the comments,

Marv James
