Know a neighbor that had his mailbox taken out by a car trying to avoid a child on a bike. Most people would simply replace the mailbox and be happy the child wasn't hurt. Nooooo, this guy replaced the mailbox with a custom-welded solid 1/4" thick box welded atop a solid 4" steel rod cemented 4ft into the the ground and had it boxed to resemble a wooden, flimsy mailbox.
Another acquaintance lives in an upscale neighborhood in an nearby large city that has narrow cement alleys behind every home. Because the alleys are quite narrow, construction workers cannot make the tight turn with their utility trailers without cutting across 2 ft of his manicured lawn. He lives in almost million dollar house and the last home in his block still required access to the interior lot to finish the other million dollar home. Live with it, right? Noooo, had had some large boulders moved in to this exact spot of grass and hid them with plants overnight. The next day, the crews came in with the appliances and he gleefully watched from his kitchen as they flipped $10,000 worth of stoves and refrigerators. Sick, but he was within the law. (We are no longer friends)
Another lady had her low brick retaining wall on the corner of her lot taken out accidentally by a car swerving to, you guessed it, miss a child on a bike. The lady rebuilt her retaining wall but instead cut the angle across the corner and left a large triangle on the corner, which she filled with 12 low sharpened steel 4" pipes cemented into the ground, just daring anyone to cut across her lot again. What was she thinking.

nice vengeance. I'm thinking now. Neighbor runs the same John Deere up and down our private road and blades the surface accomplishing what - I don't know. He carries his 2 year old son in one arm on his hip at the same time. Doesn't seem too bright to me.
