What and when was your first rock concert?

1964, I think... Beach Boys, The Byrds, Percy Sledge, some others -- at the Cow Palace in San Francisco.
In '65, I saw the Rolling Stones at the same place. Another large show with several bands including, IIRC, The Lovin' Spoonful.
My first Fillmore show was in '66. Them and The Sons of Champlin.
Then I was HOOKED. Either the Fillmore or the Avalon Ballroom any (every) weekend I could scrape up the $2.00 - $2.50 to get in. By '68, that was $3.50 - $5.00.
Grew up in the right place/time for that sort of thing, I guess. I saw 'em ALL! Well, most of 'em, anyway...

It was a hot and great time. Congratulations on your survival! The allure was strong......I drove across the country to San Fran as a teen looking for what you grew up with......sadly ( actually in retrospect it was fortunately for me ;-)!!!), the era had passed by 1970.

You know, I forgot about sneeking into the Brass Rail in London Ont. in the sixties, (drinking age and all) and watching Ronnie Hawkins and the Hawks. This group, minus Ronnie Hawkins, became "The Band".
WOW were they good!

Dave :savewave:
