I found this at an import car boneyard and felt compelled to take it home, I have been scouring catalogs and web pictures trying to figure out what it came from--obviously MG, but which, I guessed T Series, but the TC and TD have a dual center section of the manifold it looks like.

Anyone recognize it. On the back it says 22118 or 22119 (can't reas it for sure) with a V underneath the number.

It must be off an early car for sure. I bet Tony will know what it is off of. Great score. If I saw this at my local yard, I would have picked it up and added it to my collection.. like my grille for a VP Princess.
 
I looked at Midget manifold pictures in a catalog, don't think that is it.

Also, the midget motors were marked Austin on the valxe covers and shared with the Sprite of course, don't know why they would badge engineer a part to say MG that you don't even see, but who knows.

I don't think it is TC or TD either. Doesn't seem to match the MGA pics I could find, TF 1500? which I think is related to the MGA engine?

Whats the distance between hole? I'll measure a midget manifold for you.
 
Inside edge of the hole to inside edge (on the picture above top right edge of the hole for the left branch to top left edge of the hole for the center branch) about 4 13/16ths inches from center to either branch
 
I'll let you guys continue probing your knowledge base.....

I didn't think it was midget, we are now sure it was not TC, TD, TF1250

It is not MGB

So in my knowledge base I am left with some version of the MGA engine, TF1500, MG Sedan (of which I know very little) or pre-war.

C'mon Tony, give us a hint.

I'm at a loss to ID the siamese 2-3 ported MG head but I ~know~ I've SEEN that bastage!!

The manifold in question is most likely from an M.G. MPJG engine, probably from a VA or TA model. These were produced in the mid to late 1930's. It isn't particularly valuable but certainly worth hanging onto rather than throwing away. I don't have an immediate use for it but if you're looking to unload the thing I'd consider buying it and passing it along to one of my friends who have these engines in their cars.
 
You have more need for it than me - all I was gonna do was hang it on the wall!
 
Scott, that is a good idea, general question, are we in agreement that this is for a MPJG engine or is that just a guess.
