What Am I? Identify the Car from the Hood Ornament

I spotted this one on a car at a local car show yesterday. What am I?

I think the ornament is a "Red Herring" ... looks to me to be an MG "T" series grille. Most likely either TC or TD. Ornament looks to be some aftermarket embellishment.

Hood Ornament very nice, Car itself quite ordinary. A small British Sedan. Nothing like the Auburn Boat Tail Speedster which was sitting about 50 feet away that I needed to take a photo of. Breathtaking to say the least.
