What a posh ride!

I used to think my Midget's suspension was too stiff and unforgiving. I hadn't driven it in several years, but instead I've been driving mt '58 Sprite. I just took a drive in the Midget and WOW! It rides like a Cadillac compared to the Bugeye. It is noticeably slower, but WOW does it ride smooth. It is also hard to get used to the turn signal being on a stalk, but WOW does it ride smooth. Part of the newly rediscovered comfort might come from the refurbished seat, but WOW does it ride smooth. It also seems pretty tight with the radio console and thick door panels, but WOW does it ride smooth. I think I know which car I'll drive to Elkhart Lake for the Midget 50th Spridget event.

All that said, Trevor, how does it ride? :jester:

I am n ot sure i understand...it rides better than your Bugeye?

I agree with Trevor!

I overhauled the suspension in my Midget last winter and was entirely impressed with how nicely it rides. It's essentially stock with rubber bushes and lever shocks. Surprisingly smooth on all types of roads, takes bumps and potholes pretty darn well for a 36 year old car. In fact, it's MUCH smoother than some of the modern sports cars I've ridden in lately including my '05 MINI.

Trevor's RIGHT!

It's nice with a Bugeye and a square body with 1/2 leafs.
When the wife wants to go for a ride, we usually take the 67.
it rides S m o o t h !
the Bugeye rattles your kidneys but it is more fun to drive.

Gotta agree with you guys. My bugeye is nice and RACEY but my mid 60's midget's are SMOOOOOTH. Got them new fangled roll up windows too!!!

But before I started driving my Bugeye on a regular basis I never thought of the Midget ride as smooth. I think I'll keep them both, they are very different cars.
