Kind of reminds you of a 2CV... pretty simple.

Parked my BT7 next to a nice Z3 today and noticed how similar they are. Just about the same length and the bonnet, cockpit and boot proportions are almost identical. I think the Z3 looks more muscular but the Healey is prettier.

What current vehicle would best represent what the Healey would look like if still in production today?
:driving: Assuming you mean AH 3000 I'm going to have to agree that the BMW Z4 is the closest. When you look down low from the rear towards the front the lines are very similar. Since BMW at one time (maybe still does) own the rights to the AH name I think they stole the design.
Just my opinion;

I was at the BMW dealership two days ago and they had Z4s up on pedastal displays. I thought of this thread right away. I agree that the Z4 is the closest mass produced car today to the original design and intent of the 3000.

I was going to pipe in about the BMW Z series, the Z3 even started out with a 4 cylinder motor, then went to a 6. In concept I think it is very close, the six is torquier than the Miata or S2000 motors, like the Healey was compared to other British contemporaries. Likewise the chassis is good but certainly not considered state of the art, still fun to drive.

It has similar styling elements, as mentioned not a pretty as a big Healey, the new restyled Z4 is prettier (like a big Heleay) , but I think more sophisticated in concept and execution so less of a kindred spirit than the Z3.

I am currently shopping around for a good used Z3, and just drive a 2.8 with a 5 speed last week, still would like to find a good 3.0 or M for a little extra oomph. They have a vintage feel somewhat both in the cockpit and the long view over the curvacious hood, which is something I loved about driving the Hundred, it was almost as neat inside looking out as outside looking in.

Speaking of BMW, have you seen the Z8.
It has the same lines from the side as the Healey. Front and rear wings.

AUSMHLY:
By far the best approach to the Healey.
I have always enjoyed the look and the lines of the Z8.
It is a spectacular auto.
I have been waiting since it was introduced for the price
to come down to a point that I could afford.... no such luck.

The car isnt expensive the hood ornaments are , they cost $30,000 each. The car in between the ornaments is just a $10,000 status symbol. -----Keoke

I can only dream.... nice choice.

I'm with you.... great car, the Z8

I have to agree the BMW Z4 or Z8 looks very much like a AH. Check the other posts on this matter....
