Not exactly top down weather. We have only had a few days where it got into the 80s at all. This looks more like British weather than NC weather in mid May. I want to do some top down riding in the midget when its not cold. I am tired of cold for a while now and when I ride up into the mountains it gets even colder on the Parkway. Wife and I plan to go to Disney at the end of the month for our 20th anniversary. That heat is going to kill us I know. Its probably in the 90s down there right now. I can hear it raining right now :frown: nothing to do but work on a solar project I have been working on.

The high here today is going to only be 68. But with abundant sunshine (for a change), it should be a good day for top down driving. Wait... I've got yard work to do and a soccer game to attend.

in CT, 55° F is perfect !!!!!

the rain is killing my weekend up here
Well, the way it is here is that it rarely gets above 85-90 degrees even in the hottest part of summer and as you drive higher into the mountains for views and things the temp starts to drop. If it were 90 degrees right here, it would be in the 50s at Mt Pisgah or any other higher place on the Blue Ridge parkway. Its great in the summer when its hot, but if its 50-60 down here then its top up heat on full blast weather up there. I really enjoy the drive up there and the views. Nice smoothly paved roads that twist and turn through the trees. I need to make a video, when it finally gets warm  The other option is to go down the mountain into South Carolina where it gets about 15 degrees warmer which I have not done in a while. Midget is all clean and polished and the body work all done from the accident where the truck backed into me. I don't really want to drive on rainy highways right now. Same with my motorcycle when its cold and wet.

Now that sounds great, that is what we have here in July and August. Maybe its me,but it seems this winter have been unusually long. Of course I will regret that in a couple weeks or so, I bet. It has rained the entire weekend and been overcast. I don't so much mind the normal summer weather with the occasional afternoon shower, but this gloomy wet and cool is getting old. I can practically hear the grass growing.

Well weather for entire week next week is 70's and sunshine. I'm hoping Bugsy gets out of the shop on Monday.

That's what you get for livin' in the mountains, Kim! But come July, I'll be the one crying in the Charlotte summer. Baking hot sun, no breeze, no clouds, humid stagnant air for weeks on end... :cryin:

You have perfect LBC weather up there now. Heck, that's the weather these cars were made for! Mid-50's, overcast and drizzly. Drop the top, crank the heater, and hit the Parkway! :driving:

Just got back from a cruise with dog and son. 56 but son insisted on the top being down, good boy. Yesterday went to car show 55ish (top up) I parked next to a 65 Spit and a '66 Jag, we were the British contingent. My 8 year old wouldn't go "car shows are boring....'oh look, another Corvette', he said in his sarcastic little sneer. He's right there were 10 vettes.

I made a fire in the woodstove and hour ago and they are saying possible frost tonight or tomorrow night more likely. I wouldn't mind 50s but the rain and mud everywhere just ruins it for me. Lot of rain lately.

55 but very sunny here. on goes the tonneau, on goes the heat, out goes JP - about 50 miles now and the hesitation seems to be gone. adjusted the carb slightly before I left and that seems to have helped

JP, you are just one going dude.

I don't think I have seen the sun shine since Wednesday. Hoping for warmer dryer weather later this week.

Kim-
Your weather sounds like Seattle weather- always raining. But this weekend is PERFECT, around 70 degrees and sunny for a NICE change!!

We finally had a really nice weekend -- 70s at my house, 80s down in the valley. Yesterday was a garage day, finished up the brake lines and fuel line. SNuck in a motorcycle ride as well, disguised as a parts run.

Today was a long ride down the Miller racetrack outside Salt Lake City for the ALMS race. Ferraris and Porsches and more, a great day. A bit sun burned despite lots of sunscreen, just a long day with little shade. Good fun, though, and a nice ride (about 180 miles round trip).

Here in Arizona it is time to put the Midget away for the summer. 107 today. You can drive very early in the morning or very late in the evening. Way too hot for midday driving until September.

If you want to keep it in my garage, just ship it up...

Here in Gothenburg, Sweden it was cool and drizzly this morning, not good Spridget weather, but quite nice later this afternoon. Great for driving your Spridget, but only one problem: no Spridgets. I've been here a month and haven't seen a single one. On the other hand, I've seen a convoy of French classic cars, mostly Renault 2CVs,and a couple Citroens. Last weekend, the local Harley and Corvette clubs were out on the road, as well. It seems popular to take out your classic American car here, on the weekend, just as, in the US, it's the time to take out your classic European car. Go figure.

I caught up with the French cars at a parking lot near a nature preserve along the coast (I was bicycling), but the way they were parked, I couldn't get more than a couple good pictures.

Kim, you guys from up North a bit, often times miss out on one the best sections of road in our neck of the wood, plus it brings you South towards a little more warmth  HWY 276 from Brevard back down to HWY11 is the best curvey road in our neck of the wood (the Dragon hasn't got anyhting on this section of road), that and Paris Mountain right here in Greenville, way more curvey than BRP, so come South sometime, give me a shout, when you get to hwy 11, and I'll run it back up with you, and then we can grab a cold one at Duggins Pub in Brevard.

I think I may try to come and run up 276 thru Brevard this weekend, keep on 276 thru the Pisgah Forest, the hit the BRP, and head over to Silva on Monday, email at the house if you want to hook up and run the little cars

Oh the Caesar's head run up the mountain I have done several times on motorcycle but never in the Midget. Now that might be an idea. It is supposed to be nice here this weekeend, finally back warm again. I am supposed to go for a motorcycle ride over north into tenn on monday but that might not work out. That run up from brevard to the parkway is a good one if you don't get behind too many slow pokes. Even down the hill into waynesville is not bad for a midget ride. The shortest route for me is about to miles to the hwy 191 entrance to the BRP and then climb the hill to mount pisgah and then a couple miles to the 276 junction. Let me see what the wife has planned and I might meet up. Or even if I can't meet up I might get on the parkway later. Look for my yellow midget.
