Went to a Car Show Today

Went to breakfast & noticed that there was a car show at the Chevrolet dealer
that's between Boones Mill & Rocky Mount,VA today.

Avanti! So much better looking and driving than the bloated Thunderbird of the same years.

Sure wish I'd owned one!
 
Yeah, two of my dream cars there - an Avanti and an AMX.

Saw my first Avanti in '63 in Corpus Christi at an airport road race. There was an XKE there as well, but that Avanti caught my 13-year-old eye!
 
Nice - never could really warm up to the Avanti but, the AMX.... :love:
 
It was actually an Avanti II.
That black AMX had a twin carb factory setup.
Owner said that they only made 250 of them.
 
That looks like it was a great show. Here in the Peoples Republic of California we have a lot of car shows, but the cars tend to be a mix of Japanese, BMW, and a ton of C8 Corvettes. It is great to see so many well preserved American cars.
