Went downstairs and got my midget fix today.

I was able to make it downstairs today and look at the primered midget a bit. Man, this shoulder surgery is the most painful thing to put up with. Doc said he had to do a lot in there but thinks he has gotten me fixed up. Whew, this is bad. Its gonna be a long time before I can start back on the midget again. Also, I think I screwed up by using up all the primer. When go over the car fixing little bits with spot putty, I will need to reprimer those spots wouldn't I?

You most certinaly will. However, it will wait, and you can get primer, high fill, in small amounts.

That's right.
I've had shoulder issues, take it easy & get well - then buy a little more primer. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

My doc say's I have "moderate" rotator cuff injuries (from doing recent renovation on my folk's house). Sure makes it hard to sleep.

I have two race weekends in the next month, so I'm trying to take it easy.

Healing definitely takes more time when you're in your mid-50s. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/yesnod.gif Oh well....

Went to the stock car races with a friend the other nite. He ran with the big guys till we had a suspension failure. He is 70 last birthday. Must admit he has raced his whole life though and has lots of experience. Ledgend cars now.

Us old guys still got it it seems. At least some of us. Shoot, I can change tires with the kids, just not for as long a time.

Sorry for your troubles, Kim. That's way I stay away from the Doctor: the cure is worse than the disease.

Get your wife to padlock the basement and hide the key so you won't be tempted to mess that shoulder up!

Wait 'til you get in your mid 60s. Everything takes a lot longer then. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif

I can't believe I was so stupid to use up all the primer. What was I thinking? Pain pills have finally kicked in this morning and I fill like typing a bit. Things I have leearned. One quart of the nason fill primer with the activator makes 40 ounces and I used a 1.4 mm hvlp jet and had more than enough to do a midget. I put on an extra thick whole car coat at the end that was not necessary and I should have kept back for covering the spot putty. Having done this, I feel pretty confident that the one quart of basecoat that I have plus the reducer will be plenty to cover the car with 64 ounces. I also bought 2 quarts of the speed clear plus a pint of activator which is 80 ounces so should be plenty. Also, I will paint the black back on the rockers, which will be that much less of the yellow base coat needed. Gonna be a while before I can start on spot putty and fine sanding, but who knows. I usually go around a car first with my hands just feeling for bad spots and marking them with a black sharpie.
