Got a 40mm ∱2.8 DX Micro Nikkor.

First image, hand-held, just to check function. This is the complete frame, just scaled down.

Do you have a focus rail? I was able to knab one from a set we had for a magazine company. Use it occasionally for a 55mm micro.

Good for you! No, never got one. The penny shot was my thumb and small finger as surrogate. Not very effective, either! Date's sharp, left side of the coin not so much. Call it a grab shot. ;)

I've used 'em doing medical stuff, the facility had their own. I can use the Bogen "Majic Arm" to get close enuff tho. A PITA to set up but acceptable for anything I'd be doing now.

Another grab shot. About dime sized bloom, they seem to grow like weeds.

We believe it to be some sort of Iris. Tall, in-ground plants, propagation seems to be their forte.

Macro is one afea of photography that I've not yet dabbled in, but would like to one of these days!

Just went digging around for a roll of old IR film (I know there's one ~someplace~ here) found these instead. Expiration dates? The Agfa has 11/87 as its exp. date!

A funny thing, I thought about opening the 4x5 to see how many sheets are left...

...just couldn't bring myself to do it.

If ya gotta ask...

Split Enz made a cool album in the mid 80's that was laser etched. That is the one backlit on the platter. The white LP is Tom Tom club. Other personal notes, my friend Chas was the keyboardist in Wall of Voodoo and Push was a local DC band I was a roadie for in my late teens.user70056_pic15766_1555940645.jpg

So neat! Both the photo and the backstory. (y)

If you were in the DC area, did you ever come across a group out of VA, "Tranquility"?

That doesn't ring a bell. The only Tranquility I could find online was a British band from '71-'74. That was more than a decade before my nightclub days.

Right era, actually the same group.

These guys: Tranquility

They living in Virginia Beach, early '70's. Two vinyl albums.

My younger brother managed a Junior Hot Shop in that area back in the '70's. The whole DC area was a place I never wanted to spend much more time in than necessary. Did a number of shoots, mostly Andrews, while in the Air Force but was never comfortable there.
