Wellseal and Connecting Rod Place Bolts Again

An older subject, but Roger Williams, in his "How to Restore" book, makes two points:

1) "Many a good TR will have Wellseal applied to both sides of the head gasket" (he's not saying it's mandatory)

2) Connecting Rod place bolts designed to be used without tab washers should never be reused.

I can go with #2 since I'v heard a 50/50 split of opinion on the matter, and I can see #1 being a good idea after seeing how Wellseal looks on application.

Would anyone object to using Wellseal on standard Payen head gaskets.

I would use only what Payen recommends for their gaskets. I don't have one here to read the instructions, but they are the experts for their product. I believe that mine went together with no sealer applied on two occasions, and I've never had a problem.
