The Sprite is running!

The wierdest thing, remember when I posted up about the problems we were having keeping it running? Well we both walked away and decided to play with it another day. Then yesterday we got back from getting some ice cream and we went over and turned the key and by god the little car started running and kept running!!! So with some find tuning he is ready to go to the muffler place tomorrow to get a new exhuast pipe for the headers to the muffler and then I will be on the road (well I do have to give him a bath though first!)

I will get some photos once everything is cleaned up and post up those here.

I really want to say THANK YOU to everyone that has offered advice and encouragement, you have kept me at it and helped me and my hubby figure this car out.

I can't wait to get to driving!!

VERY welcome news indeed, Rachael. Everso pleased the li'l beast runs. Could have just been some old gas "gel'd" in the carb orifi and by introducing new gas it dissolved the goo.

Kudos to Rachael and Joe for hanging in there when the going (or lack thereof) got tough!!! I am especially excited because that is my 948 out of my '59 Bugeye . Sort of like a transplant that worked!

I have an appt. in the AM for the exhuast pipe to be put on and then I am in business, whoo hoo!!

Trevor I will be there it would be great to meet you and hang out with my friend John as well, can anyone give me some more info?

Um yeah. My biggest fear when starting a motor that hasn't ran and went through some major work. Well perhaps that's not quite my biggest fear. Getting abducted by aliens, now that's my biggest fear.
 
Mine's th' black helicopters wot circle over th' hovel after dark. I think they found a way to penetrate my AFDB.
