Well Known Brit-car people

One of the interesting things (to me) is to find out about people I am already familar with and learn that they are also Brit-car enthusiasts.

I often listen to 106.7 FM Lite radio here in the NY area (more than ever, now that WFAN-AM has ditched Imus) and one of the DJs I often listen to is Al Bernstein, who is crazy about Brit cars (he owns a '56 Jag sedan).

Here's stuff about Al Bernstein:

Nicholas Cage has often remarked about his first car: a Spitfire.
One of our local TV weather reporters, Storm Field (it's his real name....his Dad was a weather reporter too), has a V8 MGB that I've seen at EMRA Time Trials.

There's probably other well-known Brit-car fans too.

"Commander Luke Burchard" (sp?) of the Starship Enterprise used to drive an MGTD.

Harrison Ford's wife bought him an Austin Healey for his birthday.

According to my grandmother, the main character from Diagnosis Murder drove an XK150. I'm not sure how she knew that.

OK, now *that's* interesting 'cause I always think of him as an airplane guy.

He took some of his training with my pal, Damian. In fact I've flown the yellow Cub he's leaning against many times.(first picture, with Damian and the Cub)

He's dropped in at our local airport (Andover, NJ) in his Beaver (second picture) and his Bell JetRanger (helicopter).
His Healey is probably in Colorado, so I guess we won't be seeing him dropping in with that.

And Leno has Jags as well. One very fast one.

Dick Van Dyke drove the Jag in Diagnosis Murder.

Didn't know about Andy Rooney, I used to see him all the time when I worked across the street from channel 2, that would have been a nice conversation starter.

Jay Leno has everything! Ever see his car collection? It'll make you shudder. Wow! Poor guy.

In the last scene of the movie National Treasure (my second favorite movie behind Flight of the Phoenix), when Cage is at his new mansion with his new lady friend, you will see a Jag XK 120 sitting in front of the mansion. I am pretty sure that is his personal car.
