Last summer, through no fault of my own, i became the owner of a '57 (? some dispute on registration) Wolseley 6/90 Saloon. This was the first Wolseley of the 'modern era' taking the design from outboard fenders, to a more aerodynamic shape. The designer, Gerald Palmer, also did the MG Magnette, and the similarities are striking. (basically the same design, just a larger size).
The 6/90 (6 cylinder, 90 hp) was the first saloon to use the C series 2.6 litre BMC engine. It was the early 2 port head with side draft SU carbs.
Amazingly, the engine pulls the 3000 pound saloon along with power to spare!
I joined the forum because of the engine (and a couple of strange noises that have developed), although as a teenager, I drove my father's 100/6 for a few years, owned a '60 MGA Coupe, and a '58 Bugeye!

My other car is a 'much loved' '53 MGTD that I bought out of a barn 5 years ago (26 years stored) ... ya gotta love those 'barn finds'!!!

Have a webpage devoted to the 6/90 and its rolling restoration !!!!

And a site for the MG TD

Let me be the first to say Welcome.

This is a great site with lots of help kicking around.

Cheers

Mark
