Well it finally happened Bought it

I got flagged down by someone on the street wondering if I wanted another MGB. It's either a 76 or 77 BRG that's been sitting covered up for 8 or 9 years. Might take a look at it this evening as its less than a mile or so away. The owner wants it to go to someone who wont crush it so it may be cheap. Sad thing is if I were to bring it home I think I would be shot. I hope its a rusted out bucket as I don't feel like getting shot today.

Re: Well it finally happened

If they free or next thing to free, you home free. You can always find it a good home if necessary.

Re: Well it finally happened

Never pass up an opportunity like that, unless it's complete junk.

Re: Well it finally happened

Went out there today and like an idiot forgot my camera. Looks like I bought it. Still working on the price but I think I can get it for around a grand. She is going to let it sit till I can get it in December and its going to take my truck with the winch and a some labor to get it out of its hiding spot.

Its cosmetically rough 1976 tundra green b. Interior is biscuit but will need to be completely redone. Body is in fantastic shape with no rust showing. Paint is all original and is badly oxidized but may clean up but it will need to be repainted to look nice.

The best part is its a one owner car that is completely original and appeared to be complete with 52000 miles on it. Still has the California blue plates but has been off the road since 1989.

BINGO!! Way to go! That's almost "pulling a Tony"!

Re: Well it finally happened

Nice one!...What are your plans for it?

Re: Well it finally happened

I'm planning on draging it up to ND and over the winter start cleaning it up mechanicaly and somewhat cosmeticly and use it for a fair weather around town car.

Re: Well it finally happened

Oh, nice indeed. Now for some Pics since it is only a mile away.

Re: Well it finally happened

I'd love to go back and grab some but it's quite a spider infested jungle to get back there and its quite a chore to get the area opened up enough for a picture. Took me a good 20 minutes to get the car to the point where I could get a good look at it.
