Pulled the old box - it was only held on by 5 bolts. Yikes!

Rich - aka "Mr I scored a killer deal on a way more solid that I was expecting TR250" - is going to help me put the replacement J-Type in.

The McMaster Carr dowels arrived today so, so once the BPNorthwest clutch kit gets here Rich will be getting a call

Wow, those floorpans look near new....... NICE.

The undersides still have the factory paint, but there where other things wrong. The diff mount was torn and the fulcrum bracket was ripped etc, but no rot to deal with so far....

We all are, they just let us walk around in public. We have our own form of ankle bracelet called an LBC

Okay, okay, Tom is forcing me out of the closet. Yes, I was able to get the 250 running after a 27 year slumber. Yes, I drove it around the block last night and am extremely pleasantly surprised at how well it runs and feels. No smoke, no unpleasant mechanical noises, good oil pressure. It did cough up some hairballs (rust pieces) out of the exhaust. Yes, it did blow some smoke initially but that was Marvel's oil burning off. Then the exhaust turned reddish orange. Bet you've never seen reddish orange exhaust before. It was rust dust. T/O bearing is a liiitle noisy but then again it doesn't have any carpets or soundproofing so it might be normal. Couldn't check OD as I haven't yet looked to see how the PO has it wired up. The normal steering column switch isn't there. Tires are very square so no high speed runs were made. Radiator has a small leak. Probably won't be ready in time for this weekend's Triumph club breakfast run but should be on the road fairly soon.

Now all that's left is everything else.

Pin[censored]??????? and I spelled the word "censored" on this reply. If you "censored" your finger on a thorn picking a rose please give an alternate reply using another word to discribe the action.Could it be a comp driven censorship program or some people with their minds in other places. As for two similar replys, power crashed due to heat and I didnt realize first post was sent. Oh!No! Hope it wasnt my evil alter ego. OOPS! I "HOPE" hope isnt a "censored word these days
