Welcome to Social Security - your wait time is

I started the naturalization process in 2007 after being told that my Green Card was out of date. It was an old one with no date or digital info. on it. After filling in a stack of forms and sending a check to the INS I got a reply very quickly saying they had my info and invited me to an interview where they took my biometrics (Digital Finger Prints)
Next I got a letter saying I would get a notice within the next 392 days!
A year later I get a letter stating I had to return to the INS to have have my biometrics re done as they had expired?

It took almost 18 months from start to finish. The swearing in ceremony was a great experience. People from about 20 different countries becoming US citizens.

I have kept my UK passport and that was very helpful when I was working in Germany and ran into the Schengen Area limits.
