I'm sure this has come up before, but I cannot recall how much a completely striped BT7 chassis weighs. 250? 300 lbs? I need to load it on a small trailer this weekend. Any ideas on using a cherry picker to assist. There will only be two of us to do the job so any ideas will be appreciated.

Define bare chassis .
are you talking just the box metal frame or the superstructure with firewall ,inner fenders , footboxes floors etc etc .

I have moved mine by myself a number of times into place on an 8 foot long flatbed trailer "Egyptian style" by rolling the frame on pvc pipe. Then blocking and strapping. No prob. Block it up, slide the trailer under one end add some rollers lift other end and roll. Piece of cake. With two guys, as easy as drinking the beer when you are done.

When I blasted/painted my BN6 chassis/superstructure, I was using a cherry-picker (engine hoist) for doing all the flipping & supporting, while working alone.

Two (2) guys should be able to muscle it around to do what you want with it.

Over the course of 2 days I moved it twice and a third time onto a trailer. My best estimate is that it weighs around 250 lbs. About 150 lbs for the front half and 100 lbs for the back half. Using a stick of PVC pipe as a roller really made it easy to push the chassis all the way into the trailer.

The original Healey chassis weighs 165 lbs. I know this because I have weighed one.
The Jule chassis weighs 235 lbs. The lack of weight in the original chassis is a significant factor in the failure of the chassis.

Glad the pipe roller tip was of some value.
