replaced the door seals and seals on the top of my DHC. Ordered the seals from Rimmer Bros. arrived in three days. Took about an hour and a half.
 
Finally put the roof up on the TR6. Hooked up the CTek charger and I'll wait until another nice day before filling the tank and adding the fuel additive for the winter. It's way too early for snow up here. Cover will go on tomorrow to keep it nice and clean for the winter.
 
Cleaned out the garage to provide more room to work on the TR6, waiting for wheel bearings and front suspension bushes. I am also half way through tearing down the 1296 motor from the 69 Spit.
 
Oh man I wish I was able to get some wrenching in. Between soccer and company coming into town the only thing I made progress was gaining an understanding of how to set up my SU HS6 (via your help here guys.)
 
Spent day number four removing an uncaged caged nut stalwartly holding the cowl to the front of my TR.

Tom- Do you play soccer or coach?
 
No weekend projects but lining up my winter projects.......and the list keeps growing. The "big" one will be making all new interior panels out of leather to match my new leather covered Miata seats. I just picked up a heavy duty sewing machine on eBay and I'll practice with it on some vinyl. But I'll probably keep driving the car until the first of December as long as the roads stay dry.

Hi Elliot. I used to do both, but now my role is to stay on the sidelines and yell things like "other way girls!" and "stop braiding her hair and focus on the game!" in an encouraging way at my 6 year old's game.
 
Tom- MY boy is an avid "footballer" and plays in the under 15 bracket and the team is pretty good.
At a recent game the other teams goalie after a 4-0 start before half decided he'd put one of our players in a headlock and try to cold cock him.
That was exciting.
 
I'm ff for a week from grad school so I'm at my parent's house for a few days. I went and picked up the moggie from our mechanic (he had replaced a front stub axle and fabbed a new exhaust). Got to drive it 7 miles back home in below freezing temps with no top. It was really chilly, but she's running great. This week I'm going to replace the rotten-plywood floorboards and get a good alignment done.
 
Tom- That's great. A fun age to watch "munchkin soccer".

Don- Sure hope the ref pulled his red card for violent conduct and sent the player off the field.
 
4 games and he is finally able to play again and of course his first game is against, US!!
2 of our parents got 1 game suspensions for running on the field too.
I was to much in shock.

Sounds like your boy is OK, but wow. I didn't think that sort of thing happened in Seattle. Kid must have been a transplanted Californian...
 
Ah yes.....youth sports. It builds character.

Now if the parents would get out of the way and just let the kids be kids, things would be fine. We have the nutty hockey parents up here. You'd think they were playing for the Stanley Cup for the fuss that they make. And each one of them has the "Best" player on the team, so each of those kids deserves more ice time and preferential treatment. Yeah, right.....

Luckily I'm too old for this stuff, so I just listen to the stories from the guys that attend.

Paul, I know what you mean. If I didn't have all those years of coaching and umpiring,I probably would be one of them.
 
Youth sports... We published a small community newspaper here for a few years, just as REAL ice arenas came along (Hockey? In FLORIDA!?!?! :shocked: )... I went to the local arena to do a story on youth hockey. Suddenly every kid in the region was gonna be th' next Mario Lemieux. I could not BELIEVE the ferocity of some of the hockey parents!! Wow.
 
This last weekend we added some washers and new bolts to tighten the top to the Spitire body. The wind noise is less and there is no nasty sound when the car rolls down the road. Replaced seat bolts- now each seat has the proper four bolts holding each seat in place. We're driving to Prescott, AZ for the weekend. Should be fun- the highs for the wekend according to weather.com is low seventies.
 
Well, this weekend I'm working Sat and riding the Livestrong Challenge Sunday here in Austin. I'll get back to the Spitfire asap after. I might need a day or two to recover from my 70 miles, lol. By then all needed parts will be in and I'll be back on the road. Woohoo!
