I dont know what it is but these TR8s just call to me and then show up on my door step! I got a package deal for two wedges; a TR8 coupe and TR7 convertible for a few hundred bucks and turns out about $1000.00 in new old stock and upgrade parts!

This TR8 coupe was sold new in New Jersey to a couple then sold to the current owner with 7200 miles in 1984. That is what is on the title. Now the car has 47,000 miles and besides the distributor is 100% original less tires! The nose is completly rotted but only the header panel. Everything else is surface rust.

The convertible TR7 is a 1980 with 87,000 miles and it is very solid with original paint. It has a NOS 1981 5 Speed 10,000 miles ago. I am sure it could become a driver with some front end rework.

Wow, how do you get that much rust in the nose area with only 47,000 miles? Is that a known rust area for TR7/TR8's?

Nice purchase!

I think this TR8 had defective paint plus there was a tree growing against the bumper. It is still amazing at how intact the car is!

The coupe is "in process" of being saved. The convertible has rotted out floors and a bent frame rail so out comes the Sawzall. It has a NOS 1981 gearbox in it and a 3.45:1 rear axle so that and the trim bits should be a worthy parts car. I will keep all the ID tags and title incase I want to build a TR7 someday.
