Is it strong enough for a jacking point for a floor jack?
 
The 2-6 has a frame the Wedge is a unibody and the jacking points make me nervous with a floor jack. Also save time .
 
Fold up a bath towel, put that in the jack "cup" and use the jacking points. Jack stands at the suspension pick-up points or under the rear spring carriers and front lower control arm.

BE SAFE!! The thing can "squirm around" on the lowering onto the stands due to the springs compressing and changing vertical load.
 
Here I thought we were talking about one of those rare orange wedges with black wheels.

I've lifted mine that way, but only long enough to position jack stands. No ill effects. Follow Doc's suggestion about a cushion of some sort.
 
Oh, and Doc's caveat to be safe? YES! The geometry of the placement directly under the support point changes as you let the jack down - don't forget that!
 
years ago when I worked with lots of maps and large scale photography I learned to mak map weights with leather and beads/beans.

I subsequently adapted the concept to automotive things. Makes a great stable conforming cushion atop the jack flat.

And, as always, immediately get proper supporting jacks in the correct locations.

All my jack stands are under the 6. I use 12" 6X10's

I have jacked up my car that way for 20+ years. The side points make me nervous with a floor jack...too much stuff changing angles as you go up and down.

Center the jack under the pumpkin and then drop jack stands either at the jack points on the frame or under the axle.

No ill affects to date.
 
Randy, I can't use the axles with the big sway bar under there.
 
If you raise it using the pumpkin, the jacking points are fine for the stands (padded, of course and barring any radical frame corrosion).
