I designed this one. Thought the V8 part might be done in Green to match the car

Looks..... confusing.... I like the idea, just the order of it makes it difficult to read

I think if the V was Wider and the 8 longer and both in a different color it would look better.
 
Your emblem says '40 Ford to me. On the other hand, the first emblem looks way to modern for '70. I would try to find something which looks more "70ish"
