Would a couple BCF members help me test a website's access?

I'm interested in doing volunteer work for LibriVox - as an audiobook reader.

But their website is incredibly slow in loading pages, at least for me.

For what it's worth, my trace route looks like similar in that at some point (step 9) my hop enters a router network where the jobs all end in he.net. Of course I don't have a massive time upon hitting that center.
I looked that up and it is "hurricane electric Internet Services, Internet Backbone and Colocation Services." They are located in California.

Notice when I'm using a VPN, I still go through Hurricane electric but this time, instead of "he.net" the hop actually spells out hurricaneelectic but is "six.net."

Just for grins, if you have a VPN, try using that and see if you have better success. My guess is, there is something amiss at the Hurricane Electric internet backbone center.

I was planning to call them (because now I'm curious) later and tell them what's happening and that it seems to be an issue within their network, They may have a bad router or something misconfigured and not even know it.

I contacted Hurricane and they asked me to email them the problem trace routes, which I did. Will let you know what, if anything they tell me.
 
Just got the following reply back:

"Your two traceroutes show about 66ms and about 70ms latency, respectively. That's a normal amount for the distance between them and San Francisco.

The * * * intermediate responses are because our core routers depreference and rate-limit ICMP responses. This is cosmetic and does not affect performance. Since there is no loss and normal latency to the endpoint, there doesn't appear to be a network-level issue here."

So, it seems something else must be going on.
 
I've used Librivox off and on in the classroom over the last five years or so, and have always had mixed results with it.
