Weber help needed...

I'm not sure what type of exhaust or intake manifold that you are running, but, I have the stock exhaust with the Pierce intake and they have a different thickness at the flange. I had to manufacture a washer/spacer that was different heights to make sure I did not have any leaks. No idea if that is your problem, just throwing it out there. If you pull it off, replace you brass nuts. Mine were 8mmx1.00.

You are spot-on, Mike. I noticed that prior to the engine rebuild. Before I replaced the SUs, I ground down the Pierce manifold flanges to get them flush with the stock exhaust. This should not be the problem, but an excellent point. It was something that had always bothered me!

Edward -

I'm making some assumptions - car gets flakey after 10 - 15 min of use (time for bowls to get overwhellmed). Does this happen running in the driveway vs. actual use?

My strong vote is the reg. Might want to do a facet fuel pump wheile your at it and be safe for many years.

Geo

At this point, it will ONLY run in the driveway. Not even driveable. I'm definitely going with the pump/reg option. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks.

After reading all this, it sound like you have something stopped up somewhere in that weber. Check all the vents and things. If air can't get out, then gas can't get in. You could get something like a motorcycle tank and hook it up to the carb and set the tank up high on something and gravity feed the carb and this should eliminate the fuel pump question. Pressure is not as important as flow, you only need enough pressure and flow to keep the bowl full and setting still you should not be needing much fuel at all just to rev it.
