How hard is it to rebuild a Weber 32/36 dgv carb. this is what my Midget has on it but it will not idle with out the choke. with out the choke on it just flat lines out. like a dead accelerator pump.

A bit more complex than an SU I'm afraid!! I wouldn't tackle it without a book or some diagrams!

I ordered the rebuild kit..and did it myself. It is not as hard as you would think. The link above is a great pictorial. you'll never know til you try. I figured either I rebuild or replace and the rebuild was less so I went that route first.

Mark is selling his because they are JUNK!

Learn from mark and get yourself the twin SU euro set up.

(Did I mention that I just drank 4 beers? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif Apologies to everyone I may have offended with my reckless comments.)

Mark, what are you asking for the DGV?

Never mind, it has a 1500 manifold right? Sorry!

yeah Mark! what are you asking for it. i have been looking at several on ebay.

i would not call it exactly Junk.. i ran it for 3 years and it worked fine. i was just never really happy with the way it looked and the way the manifold does the 90° bend. I was happy with the way it would accel when the pump kicked in...Yee haa!!
my DGV is now just sitting on the bench. it was recently removed to install the SU's. i now have some faith in those carbs and see no reason to hang on to it. those who may be interested PM me. It will be going on ebay this week along with some other stuff i have like a set of swivels all painted and re-bushed and reamed ready to mount.

Stupid, unqualified comment retracted.

Still, dual SU's on a 1500 are WAAAAAY cool.

Doesn't sound like a problem that a rebuild will help. Can you describe a little more? BTW, easy-peasy to rebuild.

the carb will will not unless the choke is one. the car run find as long as it choked. you can turn the choke on and it idle under normal run speed. but once you press the gas and get the rpm to about 3000 it just flats lines and dies. like someone shut the fuel off. i thought it was a weak fuel pump but i have changed that out with a new one still doing it. it remind me of a bad accel Pump almost.
