Even though I had sworn never to work on a Honda again, I have one in the garage today. My brother's GF owns it and it's got a weeping water pump. Now to get to the water pump you have to do a ridiculous amount of work. One item, which had us twarted was the crank bolt. We tried everything: extensions, breaker bar, impact wrench. Not a bit of budging. Even went out and picked up a 15" 1/2" extension and a 24" 1/2" breaker bar. Used a 4' cheater in addition. Nothing. I've never run across anything like it in my life.

Then I remembered weasel pee! Mixed some up, sprayed it on, took a break. Came back and bing, bang, kaboom! We got the sucker loose!

Thank god for Weasel Pee.

If you'd wanted an earth shattering kaboom, you would have needed an Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator. That would have made EVERYTHING loose!

50/50 ATF and acetone.

Apply, wait, repeat.

It's 50% acetone, 50% ATF.

Now you get to stay after class and clean the erasers.

Jody, you ARE gonna replace the cam belt in that thing while you're in there, right?

I made a similar promise to myself after the ~first~ Honda timing belt I did... then MORE of my pals started bringing the nasty things around. Even my brother got one. That crank bolt was a S.o.B. to get loose, looked as if the <span style="font-style: italic">last</span> guy to have it off used a whole bottle of Loctite on reassembly. Weasel Pee and th' Big Windy finally won out. :shocked:
 
Great picture Nial. And I'll have to keep this recipe in mind if Doc says it work it just might.
