This one turned up on my driveway about 30 minutes ago as my sons friend turned up to show off his 'new' car. Nice to know there are still some 17 year old lads with an enthusiasm for older vehicles. I'll let one of the usual suspects identify it, yes I know its a bit easy but I thought I'd give you an easy one beings its fathers day and all that!

WOW! That's "perfect"... or sumpin' like that... :jester:

I think it is a character from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I think it is a character from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Actually, it's an older Prefect (and there was also a similar looking Anglia). These generally had the little Ford flathead 4 cylinder

(the later 105 Anglia model in Hitchhiker with the slant-back window has an overhead valve engine)

In any event, I like all the old Anglias and Prefects. This looks like a nice one!

Nial, that is some impressive recall to be able and remember what model Prefect it was in the book. I do remember that when he tried to say hello to one going down the road was how he met Arthur.

Actually... It was first sold as the Anglia, when the 105E series replaced it, Ford kept building it as the Prefect for a few years... I suspect few if any Prefects were sold in the United States, or in Canada for that matter...

That was a "100E"(101E in the USA),unless it was built in 1960,
which would make it a "107E" here.
