Thanks to all of you here on the BCF Carla and I managed to overcome our fear of being non-mechanical and spent the last 6 1/2 months SLOWLY working on "Ellie"...our 1971 MGB. She sat in a guy's shop for 18 years and needed a lot of TLC and work.

Today we rolled her out of our garage and, after some carb adjustments, she ran like a top for her first 4 mile drive! We are VERY excited and are ready to fine-tune a few things and put her on the road. Thank you all very much for the assistance and I'm sure we'll be asking more questions in the future.

Woohoo!

Enjoy the drives, that's what it's all about.

Good news, indeed!

It's great when house ballast turns into a real CAR!!!

Doc,

Do you really know that feeling?
I hope to .... soon.

Repeatedly, Doug.

...just not recently... :smirk:

Way to go, Gary and Carla!

I remember when you started with us, and the concerns you had about the job.

Satisfying, isn't it? This is just the beginning!

Mickey

Thanks everyone for all of the encouragement. Yeah Mickey, we had a LOT of trepidation about starting this since we were both total novices at mechanics. It's been great fun and a great learning experience and will continue (the learning) for sure!

BTW time to change your signature

You're absolutely correct JP. I actually thought about that yesterday and then forgot. Then nobody will know that we missed our deadline by 2 months!

We prefer to think of it as 10 months early - says the guy who was five years into a two year project when Ms Triss hit the road for the first time.
