I have really been into the Phillies this season, and last night is a great example of why. I almost had good tickets for the game but I was a few minutes too late, although I was there for game one against the Rockies in the first round of the playoffs.

So who will the Phightins play in the series: the Bombers or the Halos?

Unfortunately looking to be the YANKER's....Man I hate those guys....still remember when a young lad in KC the night George Brett hammered a pitch from Goose Gossage outta the park during the 1980 playoffs including Mr. October....It was like a world series game for us and we celebrated all night!!!

GO PHIL's...........

Well after the last game I thought the Phillies were over.....
If they keep it up tonight..... we will have a good series game.

:savewave: Yanks in six!!! Pedro can't win in Yankee Stadium, new or old. If he out of the game by the sixth inning, the Phillies pen will never hold.

Being a Red Sox fan and watching Pedro through his glory years, I can tell you this. Pedro hates the Yankees more than anything and I think that after watching him last week, he still has one big game left in him.

Hard to tell how he'll do. He's on four days rest, and he hasn't logged many innings at all this year. You know the pressure won't get to him. The fastball is gone, but he seems to be pretty good at mixing up the off speed stuff. - wily...

We're you surprised that the stadium crowd was pretty calm for him, just the Whose your Daddy chants?

Yanks in six!

Larry

It has been a close series so far. They Yankees have a 1 run lead in total score and their starters are starting to wear down due to lack of rest. Pedro can keep them in the game and the Yankees pen has not been all that impressive except for Mariano. The Yankees are still favored, but the underdog Phils will not just roll over and go away either. I am looking forward to fun last TWO games...

I think a noisy Yankees crowd might motivate Pedro even more. He was a good pick up for the Phillies for the few games he has been a factor with all the pitching woes they have had this year with injuries and the melt downs of Hamels and Lidge. Charlie Manuel has done a much more impressive managing job this year than last year. We just need Ryan Howard to get back his NLCS swing. He goes in funks throughout the year, and it is time for this one to end.

Same with the Yanks Texeira. He's just disappeared for the playoffs, offensively. I guess Howard and Tex are canceling each other out. Hope we get through Pedro and into Lidge tomorrow night!

Dave...I'm rootin' for your Phil's....

BTW: good job hangin on against Zym...I just got lucky again...
got this feeling I'm in trouble with your son this week...

It depends if Mike checks his team this week with being back in Pensacola this week for his last week of classes, flying back to Allentown Saturday to be in one of his best friend's wedding, and then we go to Philly Sunday to see the Eagles beat the Cowboys...
(Bob's team was hurting due to the bye week. And the others reading this wonder what we are talking about.)

I don't follow baseball.

But I was in a bar in Philly last night (while at a conference).
No one there discussed cars, women, booze, or even football;
The entire night, the conversation was just baseball, baseball, baseball.

Doesn't look like he's going to, based on Monday night. Charlie wasn't even thinking about going to him.

To all those friends from New York..... you're going to be even harder to live with !!

Great game !!!

Dave...tough week of sports up there in Philly land...pass my congrats on to your son...next weeks schedule should make it double interesting!!
