I was comming home from a TDY to Iowa driveing my Bugeye. Stoped at my relatives in Indy, he is a Doc and at the time worked at Indy on race days in the Hosp.

So he says, you want to see Indy, well you know what I said. Hay, we drove right in with the Bug. He jumps out and speaks with someong and they open the gate and he says hay, lets take a lap or two.

Weee. you know that is one big track. It seemed so wide and long. Heh, at 70 flat out it took a long time to go around and guess what, no slowing for corners.

Sorry, just remembered the event. Was a bit unusual and good fun. For some reason I think they knew how fast I couldn't go. Hehe.

You don't want to know my driving stories right before I left for Vietnam...suffice it to say, I left a wrecked '67 Mustang convertible in my stepdad's driveway with instructions that when Ford came looking for it, to let 'em have it - I didn't need it anymore!

I guess I haven't been around long enough to have any of these way-back-then stories... way back then I was on a tricycle! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif
