Watkins Glen Vintage Grand Prix

Is anyone planning on going to the Vintage Grand Prix in Watkins Glen, September 8 – 10? We go just about every year, it’s quite a party that dominates the whole town, just like the old days. (Man, I’m feeling old!)

I also entered the Healey in a 100-mile Roadster Tour that includes two parade laps on the original Watkins Glen Grand Prix road course.

The races, etc. are on the weekend (9 & 10) at the track, thanks Banjo, for the clarification, I'll look for you there. Dave

Re: Watkins Glen Vintage Grad Prix

I'll be there Dave.
Been there every year for something like twenty years now.
Six hour trip from here on Long Island and I would miss it for anything.
Wont have the Healey though. I drive up with my brothers in a motor home and stay at the track. I'll be looking for you car.
Mike

September 8 only!!! In reviewing the literature, it appears that the festival is for only one day this year, not the weekend as in years past.

Re: Watkins Glen Vintage Grad Prix

Sure, thats what they do every year.
The main street in town is closed for Friday night when the re-enactment of the original race takes place. Great sounds, great cars, and then some good bar hopping /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
At the track: qualifying on Friday and (I think) Saturday morning, and then racing on Sat. and Sun.

Can'y wait!
