Need to help a friend replace a water pump on a 1500 engine. I've done 1275's and lots of MGB's. Anything diffrent or tips I should know about?

ps don't want to "oversell" my expertise.....lol

I have never done a 1275, but I have done the job on my 1500 a couple of times... Don't even try it without removing the radiator. Other than that it's pretty straight forward.

+1 also, while you're at it, get a draincock installed on the rad. You will impress the heck out of your friend. The only thing you will want to do is have it installed on the front of the rad. Eyeball which side is best.

Aint even touchin' that one!

Remember to inspect the fan clutch and replace the tolerance ring, the tolerance ring should come with a new pump.

Thanks for the heads up, I saw that in the MOSS catalog, was not sure if it was part of the pump.
