And still more problems. I have water entering the trunk. I can not seem to locate the source. It seems like the two most obvious places would be the seal around the trunk lid or the rear lights. My wife refuses to crawl in the trunk with a flashlight while I run water over the rear of the car. Does anyone have any other helpful suggestions?
Thanks,
Kevin

Maybe lay dry newspaper throughout the trunk, close and give it a spray, check for wet locations on the paper.

On the other hand, YOU could get in the trunk with the light and let your wife do the garden hose spraying. This is assuming, of course, you are happily married. If not, forget the idea.

Desenex!

Or any other spray talcum like powder that you can spray on panels, rails, etc. When the water enters it will leave a trail through the powder.

I still prefer Desenex, as after all, you are working in/on the boot, right?

Water can leak in between the fender and inner wheel well where they join together, especially where the trunk opening, the rear deck, and the fenders meet.

Take a flash light and look up under the rear deck and along the top of the inner wheel well for holes and rust bulges. Do the same for the tail and side lights.

Have you pulled the seal off of the flange to check for rust holes? Mine had the same problem and I found that the flange had a few small rust holes allowing the water to run in under the seal.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will be getting out of school for a week, and I'll be trying out all of your suggestions then.

Kevin
