Me too, Dale. POUNDS of fuel was the F-4 determinant, "BINGO" was th' call... That Cessna was far short on 'gas' on departure. Who did THAT math?!?!

No alternate in sight that wasn't blue and DEEP!!!

Actually it was the 2 tons of "BC bud" that he forgot to add to the calculations
 
I bet the plane was weighted down to make it crash, just like in that episode of Magnum P.I. when the guy crashed into the tidal pool.
