We get rattlers around regularly...had our Dog hit in his mug once chasing a ball (vet/all ok)... not hard to deal with but Green Mohave Rattlers are very deadly...hemo and nuero toxic combined. Hard to see in the harsh sun but they have a slight greenish tint.View attachment 85032

That ba****d has to be near seven feet long! And likely about 140 pounds!

That booger was in our front yard using a bush for a sun shade. About that length but not so fat lol... funny story.
My wife had her friend Beth visit who is afraid of snakes...Mary and Beth were at the pool and our Dogoty Amos (Coyote heeler mix) started barking at a bush in our backyard....he was a great snaker due to his living in the desert before we took him in. He was also deathly afraid of Rattlers... so Beth calls me from the house.... might be snake. There were 2 rattlers under the bush so I got my .38 shot shell loaded snake gun (1871 Colt)....the women are in an uproar, I'm shooting snakes and Amos is barking and took a big dump and Mary stepped in it barefoot....so know she is cussing out loud, dog barking, rounds going off..... lol, just another fun day in the AZ desert...

Visualizing that as I read it, about peed me pants laughin'. Not so funny at the time, I'm sure, but the mind's eye version of the chaos is. Thanks for the explanation! Glad the only real casualties were the snakes. 👍
